MacDonald Audio offers professional on-hold-messaging, auto-attendant-recording, and streaming music services to customers throughout the United States. Audio productions are recorded and produced in state of the art soundproofed recording studios in Northern Michigan. In business since 1994, the company specializes in providing customized audio solutions for a wide array of applications. MacDonald Audio offers offers customized audio content of any kind, and has an experienced staff of skilled writers, professional voice talent, and messaging experts. MacDonald Audio also offers professional audio for auto attendants, voice mail, web sites, radio and television. The company was established by Andrew MacDonald. We strive to provide expert messaging services and responsive turn around for changes and new audio productions.

 

Andrew MacDonald - Owner
Andrew graduated from Michigan State University in 1980 with a bachelor's degree in Marketing. After college he began his career in the radio industry and served as General Manager for several stations in Michigan. In 1994 he started MacDonald Audio Incorporated to serve the growing on-hold-messaging industry. Andrew has a wealth of experience in business, marketing, writing, audio production, and telephone system configurations. Early in his career, Andrew was fortunate to be teamed with Keith McKellop as a member of the Lakefront Development Committee in Cadillac, credited with transforming nearly a mile of Lake Cadillac shoreline into a beautiful city park. He was also on the original Cadillac City Dock Committee that installed the first floating dock in the city park, which is adjacent to the pavilion. Andrew also served on the board of two nonprofit 501c-3 corporations: the Junction of Hope based in Chesaning, Michigan, and the After 26 Project based in Cadillac, Michigan. Both corporations are dedicated to the employment of adults with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairment. Andrew also served 10 years as the cross-country ski coach for Special Olympics Area 32. He is also the founder of Lakefront Days, a summer festival held along the shores of Lake Cadillac. He is an avid play-by-play sports announcer and at one time, was an announcer for the MHSAA radio network. Andrew is a long time and dedicated community volunteer.

 

Shane McIntosh - Vice President
Shane has been in the audio business for over 25 years. He got his start in the business at age 16 as a part-time Disc Jockey at WATT Radio in Cadillac, MI and has been fine-tuning his skills ever since. He has worked in a multitude of capacities in the radio and television industries including, programming, promotion, writing, and production. As Vice President of MacDonald Audio, Inc., he brings a wealth of marketing knowledge and media savvy. Shane’s experience, keen writing ability, and smooth and powerful voice, have all made him the true audio professional that he has become. With his knowledge and experience, coupled with his dedication to his work and our customers, it makes him ideally suited to oversee all of your messaging needs. Originally from Racine, WI, he moved to Michigan with his family as a child and remains a dedicated “Cheesehead”, loyal to the Green Bay Packers, to this day. Apart from his love of music, Shane is an outdoor enthusiast and on most weekends, you can find him hitting one of Northern Michigan’s beautiful hiking trails or enjoying one of the many local microbrews that our area has to offer.

 

Amy Cox - Comptroller
Amy graduated from Baker College with an Associate Degree in Business. As Comptroller of MacDonald Audio, she oversees a wide range of responsibilities including all administration tasks, HTML coding for six websites owned by the company, as well as, customer relations coordinator. Amy's education, coupled with her knowledge and previous business experience make her an essential part of our customer focused team. In her free time, Amy believes in giving back to her community and volunteers whenever possible. She serves the local municipality during all elections, volunteered as treasurer for the Cadillac Resort District, and volunteers with the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. Amy is a lifelong resident of Michigan and enjoys spending time with her family, camping, and all the outdoor beauty that Northern Michigan has to offer.
